Die Zeitschrift European Data Protection Law Review (EDPL), erscheinend im Lexxion Verlag, schließt eine seit langem bestehende Lücke auf dem Gebiet der wissenschaftlichen Auseinandersetzung mit dem Datenschutzrecht: Sie stellt eine länderübergreifende Plattform zur juristischen Diskussion und Analyse datenschutzrechtlicher Entwicklungen in der EU und ihren Mitgliedstaaten zur Verfügung. Die Zeitschriftenbeiträge stammen von Autoren aus der gesamten EU und richten sich an eine europäische und internationale Leserschaft.
Mitherausgeber der EDPL und unter anderem verantwortlich für die Rubrik „Reports“ ist der Wissenschaftliche Direktor des EMR, Prof. Dr. Mark D. Cole. In der Rubrik stellt das EMR europäische und nationale Entwicklungen im Datenschutzrecht entlang thematischer Schwerpunkte oder einzelfallbezogener Ereignisse dar. Die Autoren sind Mitglieder des EMR Media Network, eines weitverzweigten Netzwerks von Korrespondenten aus allen europäischen Staaten.
